Top 6 Only (League)

Below is the league table for only games involving the Top 6 teams.

I don't want to spoil the rare good feeling tonight has brought us but there does need to be a case for keeping our feet on the ground.

We were happy with a win at Hamilton last midweek but the stats showed it was slightly down on performance the last time we played them. And they are the bottom of the league.

That lead us to an expectation that St Mirren would follow but it just lead to disappointment again.

The Top 6 Only table just reminds us that we need to do more than just beat the Hamilton's and Kilmarnock's of this world to finish 2nd.

We dropped to 4th in this table tonight due to Hibs beating St Mirren however we did get closer to Aberdeen in 2nd.

Before looking at the stats for tonight I would guess that tonight's performance will be better than last week's so that's a positive.

Here's hoping 4 goals can give the players the much needed confidence boost as confidence has been our biggest issue this year.

Christie helps when playing in the No.8 position as his work rate is beneficial and his passing requirements there are not as difficult than a further forward position (where his accuracy can sometimes let him down).

Edouard and Ajeti should be our partnership for the rest of the season. Ajeti started 7 league games and scored 6 goals. He deserves a run as does a partnership as I discuss in my 352 8 different partnerships blog. (https://tony69mclaughlin69.wixsite.com/website/post/3-5-2-and-8-different-forward-pairings).
